Roofing manufacturers are working to make their products more resistant to weather and impact. “Demand for impact-resistant products is increasing among building professionals, homeowners, and insurers, particularly in the central United States,” says Rick Brinton, director of national accounts for CertainTeed's Roofing Products Group. Installers should make sure they're keeping track of any new techniques that might accompany these new products. CertainTeed. Landmark WideTrack QB provides a wider nailing surface for accurate installation. The original Landmark series laminated shingle has been amplified with a 1½-inch nailing area, decreasing the chance of misapplied fasteners and shingle slides. Another difference is the Quadra-Bond adhesive, which holds the two pieces of the shingle together, creating an extra-durable bond that means you can nail above the overlap with confidence.
