Muted colors may be a better idea, instead of opting for a bright color. This is another case of a color looking good on paper, but then turning out wrong when actually applied. Having a very bright color painted on your home may be more startling than you think.

3 . Preparing To Paint

On the same note, when temperatures are over 70 degrees, it is better to paint in the areas that are shaded. If paint dries in the sun too quickly, it may leave lap marks.

One good piece of advice is to split up full gallons of paint and separate them into two different containers. This will make painting a lot easier and safer. When exterior painting, it is recommended to use two topcoats, and the first should be done with a paintbrush. This ensures that enough paint gets into all the creases and crevices of the exterior. When the workday is done, try to stop at a natural boundary. This will prevent overlapping of the paint, and prevent lap marks.

4 . What Can Be Hazardous To Exterior Paint?

There are some things that can be detrimental to exterior paint on one's house. Natural happenings by Mother Nature can't be avoided, but there are suggestions to making your painting experience a more productive one. First, sunlight and ultra-violet radiation can damage paint, as direct sunlight and moisture are the leading causes of chalking and tint loss.
